Cool picture from outer space showing some aurora activity. CORRECTION: This is actually an image of the Sun. And as far as we all know, there are no auroras in the Sun :-)

just a little correction. this picture is not of an aurora or the the earth, but rather solar flares on the sun take by nasa with a special filter. if it was the earth, you would be able to discern the continents, even on the night side. the earth also does not glow as the sun is doing in this picture.

Do you know where is that aurora activity? Is that the Sun? A star?

Danny, the photo obviously has been processed, not to show something that doesn't exist but to highlight the aurora activity. As such, it is not a man-made creation, and it should be observed considering these facts.

Actually if this were a star it could very well glow like that.

I'm 90% sure that is a photoshop creation.

Possibly not though. But I just doubt the world lights up like that...
